The Attractions were Elvis Costello´s backing band and this was their only solo album release. Many bands also released albums after the lead singer had left two spring to mind Graham Parker’s Rumour and David Bowie´s Spiders From Mars, sadley non of them were successful as solo acts but I have enjoyed their albums.
Mad About The Wrong Boy featured the singles Single Girl and Arms Race, in my opinium not the best choices. Songs I love from this 16 track album (a bugger to rip) are Highrise Housewife -a real kitchen sink drama of a song- the brooding Slow Patience, Camera Camera which perhaps should have been a single along with Talk About Me and Lonesome Little Town. I also like the quirky On The Third Stroke.
The album came with a free single Theme Music From The Film Outline Of A Hairdo by Steve Nieve upon release (my copy didn´t have one) but you can find it here
Please re upload this. I have been looking for this for years.
Thanks
I´ll reupload as soon as I can, Mikey
